Description:
This is my first SX track in progress. I would like to get your guys feedback on the track, if you like it, what would you change, is it unique? I've only messed with the track deformation map here, but I wanted to know if I should continue working on this as a racing track. I tried to make this track with many options for getting around and I also tested it out with both big bikes and lite bikes to try and come to a good balance so its not just a 450 track or just a 250 track. Thanks for downloading and any constructive criticism is welcomed. (I also know my chalk track outline is off lol believe me I was just as disappointed to see that it didn't hit the jumps in certain spots)

It's my birthday today, and this is a not so good present. The jumps are pretty awkward and the track is waaaay too tight. I do really like the sand section and over and under but it needs a lot of work. Also love the selection. Good luck and hopefully you get better.

lol thanks for the comment. I like how you say it still needs a lot of work even though i've put hours into this thing lol oh well. I'm sorry you feel the jumps are awkward man, the track is tight though. Thanks for testing it out funkychicken.

Somewhat a good track. i love the second whoop section and it is a technical but a little too tight and technical. i do not like the berms/ruts they dont hold you and they give in the middle. But they are 250 friendly ;)

redrider197 - October 28, 2015 - 12:05 am
thanks honda219. I think i'm going to work on the whole middle section and make the track not so tight. The ruts after the first triple don't hold you for sure, you have to slow down to make them work. Should I make certain berms smoother? That first whoop section is just filler, maybe extend the sand in that section over those whoops with rollers and have the drag harder in that little spot. I'm not happy with the berms for the second bridge going over so maybe when I move things out I'll have some more space for them.

Nice track, a little narrow tho but it has an awesome flow.
I hope you will make more supercross tracks.

redrider197 - October 28, 2015 - 02:18 pm
thanks for trying it out dannytjes. I'm working on a second version of this track now. I'm going to make the track turns not so narrow, add some to the second sand section since it's longer now with adding width to the corners.

Pretty cool track man don't listen to some of the negativity, just needs to be a little wider and just like a little itty bitty more space in between some of those rhythms and it'll be an awesome track. Neat layout

redrider197 - October 29, 2015 - 12:52 am
thanks CP 757I'm going to release a second version I made the corners wider making it flow more naturally. I think people will like the way this one rides. (User friendly)

Hey bro just a few tips!
Your layout is fun. I like the split lanes and triples, unique sections like the dragonback that goes up and back down. Good job on the environment. Really has a good stadium feel.

Some stuff I learned while building my first track that might help you:
Keep the scaling down to start with. You can always add more height in Photoshop later if your jumps are too flat to clear.

Don't try to do too much with too little. Too many jumps in a small space can add more rhythms... but at the expense of flow and fun. Supercross tracks are tons of fun to play around with and create crazy layouts, but for a first track, just try to make something simple and fun so you can learn and expand from there.

If you don't have Photoshop, get it. $10/month from Adobe and it's $$$$$$$$ for track creation. Well worth it.

One other thing is if you're using the smoother tool, I would use way less of it. Try to get your jumps to come out right in the heightmap where you don't need to smooth them as much. Everything kinda looks lumped together.
Scale everything down a little and you've got an awesome track here man, great work! Don't get discouraged because it does take some time to get a Reflex track together. Always try for that extra little bit.

I disagree with chicken, I think this is an awesome track with it's own style. I'd probably reduce the scaling a little bit and make the chalk outlines a bit smaller. Keep it up!

redrider197 - October 30, 2015 - 03:39 am
Thanks BanannaHero and v0lfr4m I'll see what scaling down a bit looks like. The next version i'll do smaller chalk lines and bring things down a tad. I appreciate the feedback guys!

RELAY GOOD JOB FOR YOUR FIRST TRACK IT IS JUST A LITTLE BIT NARROW IN SOME SECTIONS AND THE WHOOP NEED TO BE BIGGER LIKE THE WHOOPS LEADING INTO THE TURN AND IT ALSO NEEDS TO BE A BIT ROUGHER IN MOST OF THE TURNS. I HOPE YOU CONTINUE TO MAKE THIS A RACEABLE TRACK BECAUSE IT IS A VERY GOOD TRACK.

seanspicer - February 19, 2016 - 01:07 am
Such an awesome track! Not realistic but screw the haters, it's so fun, and people who don't like it probably just aren't good reflex players haha.
